WhatsApp + website: turning visitors into customers
In Panama almost every business sells through WhatsApp. The problem is that many websites treat WhatsApp as a forgotten button in a corner. Properly integrated, WhatsApp is your best conversion tool.
The most common mistake: just a link
A button that opens WhatsApp is useful, but if the customer opens the app and never sends the message, you lose the lead without knowing. You also do not know which page they came from or what they wanted.
The fix: short form + WhatsApp
- A form with only 3 fields: name, WhatsApp and what they need.
- On submit, the lead is saved and emailed to you.
- The customer sees a “Continue on WhatsApp” button with a pre-written message such as “Hi, I am Ana. I am interested in an online store.”
You keep the data and get the conversation instantly.
Context-aware pre-filled messages
If the visitor is on your pricing page, the message can say “I am interested in the Professional plan”. On the no-show calculator, it can include their result. This saves time and gives you context before replying.
Reply fast (or automate)
Response speed is key: a customer who waits hours has probably already messaged your competitor. Set up WhatsApp Business auto-replies with a greeting and an estimated response time.
Measure every click
With tools like Google Analytics you can measure how many people tap WhatsApp, from which page, and how many submit the form.
Quick checklist
- Floating WhatsApp button on every page.
- Short form (3 fields max).
- Context-aware pre-filled messages.
- Auto-reply configured.
- Clicks and forms tracked as conversions.
